Sarah Shahi is an American television actress. She played Kate Reed in the USA Network legal drama Fairly Legal and Sameen Shaw in the CBS action-drama Person of Interest. She has also had recurring roles as Carrie Turner in The L Word, Farrah Abrahams in Chicago Fire, and Dani Reese in Life.
Born Aahoo Jahansouzshahi in Euless, Texas, to an Iranian father and a Spanish mother, Sarah grew up fluent in both Farsi and Spanish. Shahi began her career as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. After appearing in guest roles on various television shows, she landed the role of Supervisory Special Agent Carrie Turner on the Showtime hit series The L Word. She then went on to play Farrah Abrahams on Chicago Fire, Dani Reese on Life, and Kate Reed on Fairly Legal.
