Candice Rene King (born May 13, 1987) is an American actress, singer, and songwriter, known for her role as Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries.
Early life
King was born in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Carolyn Accola, who was an environmental scientist before becoming a homemaker, and Kevin Accola, a cardiothoracic surgeon.
Career
In 2008, King starred in the web series Dating Rules from My Future Self as Chloe Cunningham a 26-year-old girl who starts receiving text messages from her future self. The web series gained popularity and she reprised the role in the 2012 television series of the same name. From 2009 to 2012, King had a main role on The CW television series The Vampire Diaries as Caroline Forbes, a vampire. She reprised her role in the spin-off series The Originals from 2013 to 2018 and again in Legacies in 2018. She has also appeared in the films On the Doll (2007), Deadgirl (2008), Hannah Montana The Movie (2009), Kingshighway (2010), The Truth About Angels (2011), Orville (2017), and After We Collided (2020).
