Candace Parker is a professional basketball player for the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Chicago Sky. The Los Angeles Sparks selected her with the first overall choice in the 2008 WNBA Draft. Parker, a versatile player, primarily plays forward and center.
In 2016, Parker was a big reason why the Sparks were able to win the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2002. In 2021, with her assistance, the Sky won their very first championship. Parker is the first player in WNBA history to win the Most Valuable Player award twice (in 2008 and 2013), the Most Valuable Player award for the WNBA Finals (2016), the Most Valuable Player award for the WNBA All-Star Game (2013), two Olympic gold medals (in 2008 and 2012), and the WNBA Rookie of the Year award (2008).
Parker has served as an analyst and commentator for Turner Sports since 2018, giving coverage of NBA games on TNT and NBA TV as well as the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
