Eden Hazard Kicks Swansea Ball Boy, Gets Red Card (Video And GIF)
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard was red-carded for kicking a ball boy at Swansea on Wednesday during the League Cup semifinals.
Hazard’s actions were reprehensible to most on Twitter and even the match announcer. Hazard’s own club found no fault with his actions, however, if the tweet below is at all representative of how they feel about the matter.
Has football gone mad? Hazard is sent off for kicking the ball under a ball boy attempting to smother the ball rather than return it. #CFC

(UPDATE: The club then tweeted the following after the match.)
Apologiesfor earlier ballboy tweet. Hazard has now met with the ballboy and has saidsorry. #CFC

Video and animated GIF of the incident is below.

I think the ballboy’s actions were reprehensible. He was 17 years old, not a child. Clearly Hazard was out of line, but come on, if you’re an official part of the game, you need to act like a professional. Lying on the ball is beyond ridiculous.
