Much has been made in our own league about how hard New York star Thierry Henry trains, and how it’d only make sense that the high level of success he’s found early this season would follow.
Such would seem to be the case for Fulham’s Clint Dempsey as well.
Fulham captain Danny Murphy hailed Dempsey’s amazing form after his Chelsea equalizer on Monday before making mention of Dempsey’s high work ethic in practice, and how it sets the stage for his on-the-field successes.
Murphy to the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle:
“I’ve never trained with anyone like (Dempsey), he’s unbelievable. He trains hard, he plays hard and he wants to improve all the time. That’s why he’s scoring his goals. … He deserves the credit because he’s been fantastic.”
Murphy has been hailed as having one of the top “footballing brains” in the premiership, dating back to his days as a youngster with Crewe Alexandra, so his words shouldn’t be seen as small praise.
Dempsey has 22 goals in all competitions on the season for Fulham.
