Andrew Shue and sister Elizabeth Shue grew up playing soccer

This is of course actor Andrew Shue of Melrose Place fame, who played for the LA Galaxy in 1996, hitting our sweet spot, garish ’90’s uniforms. This time courtesy of Nike. Put the tongues down Andrew!

It’s not just the jersey that’s cringe worth; those Bud logos on the shorts and the sleeve feel a little too NASCAR. Shue’s involvement in soccer has been well publicized, so I’m not sure how I missed this, but Andrew and his sister, fellow actor Elizabeth Shue, made a soccer movie based on their families real life story, back in 2007.

The movie was called Gracie and it’s sort of a reverse Ladybugs thing — girl plays soccer for boys team, although there’s no cross-dressing involved. Here’s the trailer:
